The Veterans’ War Memorial of Texas

We will forever be indebted to the brave servicemen and women who have fought and died for this great nation. It is only fitting that we always remember and honor their selfless sacrifice. The Veterans’ War Memorial of Texas represents that gratitude.

Standing at the center of the memorial is the 105 foot high “American Spire of Honor.” The five-sided, black granite structure is a physical embodiment of the gratitude of the American people for the 1.3 million members of the armed forces who have lost their lives throughout all of our nation’s history. The Spire thus serves as a constant reminder to all generations of Americans that the freedoms we enjoy, and often take for granted, come at a great cost.

Liberty’s price was paid by those we remember, and if we and our children are to continue in that freedom we must recognize that failing to protect it will result in it being taken away. May the Spire forever stand as both a reminder of heroes past and a challenge to those present to follow in their dedication and sacrifice.
