Ceremonial Guard Performance, Naval Aviation Flyover & Navy Band Concert
McAllen proudly celebrates Navy Week with a powerful evening of pageantry, music, and aviation.
The evening begins with a Naval Aviation flyover at the Veterans War Memorial of Texas, featuring a T-6B Texan II aircraft flown by Training Squadron TWO-EIGHT (VT-28) at 5:30 p.m. This tribute honors the legacy, service, and sacrifice of America’s sailors—past and present.
Following the flyover, attendees will experience the precision and tradition of the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard, showcasing a bayonet drill team performance from Washington, D.C., reflecting the discipline and excellence of the Navy’s elite ceremonial unit.
The celebration continues at Oval Park at the McAllen Convention Center with a live concert by the U.S. Navy Band Southeast “Deckplate Brass Band.” This high-energy, seven-member New Orleans–style jazz ensemble from Jacksonville, Florida delivers a vibrant mix of classic brass, jazz, and patriotic favorites, creating a festive and family-friendly atmosphere beginning at 6:00 p.m.
